Classes at Oak & Stone are typically sized with just one or two students per teacher and a dedicated teaching assistant, ensuring personalized attention. Our offerings range from focused weekend workshops to five-day intensives, complete with amenities for your comfort.

Classes and Workshops

Which course is right for you?

Whether you're just curious about the art of gem faceting or ready to dive in, we have a course designed for you. 

Weekend experience

Skill level: Beginner, hobbyist

A taste of faceting, to see if this something you'd enjoy. You'll get assistance and one-on-one guidance from the instructor in a concentrated timeframe, and you'll take home a finished gem that you cut!

4-Day Foundation

Skill level: Beginner

Our core class, for those looking to gain enough proficiency to facet independently. This in-depth program covers everything from foundational knowledge to advanced techniques. You'll finish 2–4 gems.

3-Day Advanced Class

Skill level: Intermediate

For those with faceting experience, this class provides the focused instruction needed to refine your abilities, increase speed, and elevate your craftsmanship. You can use our machines, our bring your own.

What's included in a class?

Supplies & Equipment

  • Uncut gem rough

  • Use of our 2025 Facetron machines, cutting and polishing equipment (Machine owners may also BYO)

  • Individualized instruction and attention

  • All supplies needed (loupes, polishing materials, etc)

  • Glamour photos of your finished gem
     

Meals & Refreshments:

  • Breakfast and snacks

  • A variety of beverages, including freshly brewed coffee and espresso

  • One night of home-cooked dinner and company! (optional)
     

Other

  • Onsite parking

  • Accessible first-floor restroom

  • Wifi and phone charging stations
     

Not provided, but we recommend to bring:

  • Water bottle

  • Your favorite spotify playlist 
     

Guest Policy: Students are welcome to invite a spouse, partner, or friend to relax on the property during class hours. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
